Outpatients - Hydrotherapy

What is Hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is a form of treatment or exercise instructed by a Aquatic Physiotherapist or qualified Instructor, conducted in a heated pool.

Hydrotherapy is a safe and fun way for both young and old to exercise - whether it be for fitness or just wellbeing.

The Australian Physiotherapy Association and the NSW Department of Health both recommend the water temperature range of 33 degrees to aid in muscle relaxation to achieve greater results in aquatic Physiotherapy. Our Hydrotherapy Centre has been specially designed with a stair and ramp and hoist access to allow the disabled and frail a safe entry into and out of the water. The pool depth ranges between O.9m and 1.2m and is equipped with railings to assist with stability and additional exercises. The depth also allows non- swimmers the chance to participate.
