One step away from home

cottage.jpgThe aim of the Rehabilitation Unit is to improve the quality of life for patients, enabling them to achieve a level of independence and safety in carrying out most day to day tasks. Facilities
The Cottage is a gracious Victorian home adapted to a rehabilitation setting. Patients spend much of their day in the Cottage undertaking various therapies in order to maximise the results of their rehabilitation program.
The Rehabilitation Unit is comprised of 22 beds. Shared rooms or private rooms with ensuites are available. There is a communal dining and TV room and a sunny garden area to sit and relax.

Our Rehabilitation Cottage consists of:

  • A large and well equipped physiotherapy gymnasium.
  • An occupational therapy assessment area and kitchen.
  • An interview and therapy room for social worker, psychologist and speech pathologist.
  • Availability of hydrotherapy, off site.

Our Program

Each patient is assessed by our rehabilitation specialist and therapists, and an individual program is designed.
Weekly team meetings are part of the program where progress is reported and future plans are discussed. Families are invited to attend a family conference, to ensure a successful return to home.
Your local doctor is invited to continue with your care whilst in hospital or there is a rehabilitation medical officer to provide care, should you so desire. Financial Arrangements.
Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital is accredited with the major health funds for rehabilitation. This means that all ancillary services are included under your private hospital cover.
We are also accredited with Veterans’ Affairs, WorkCover and Third Party Insurers (prior approval is needed).
