Dr Lotz is a highly qualified specialist Plastic Surgeon. He graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1995. He completed his Plastic Surgery training in 2004 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He was the first Australian trained Plastic Surgeon to then undergo further specialised training in maxillo-facial surgery, during which time he spent 6 months as a Craniofacial Fellow in Sydney, and then 6 months at the Children’s Hospital in Melbourne studying Craniofacial Surgery, Cleft Surgery, and Facial Cosmetic Surgery.
In 2005 Dr Lotz was awarded the Hugh Johnston Travelling Fellowship by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He travelled to France, where he spent a year in Paris studying ear reconstruction, facial cosmetic surgery and cosmetic breast surgery under one of France’s leading Plastic Surgeons, Dr Françoise Firmin. After his time in Paris he spent 3 months in Nantes with Dr Jean-Claude Talmant, where he trained further in the reconstruction of the nose and facial deformity in cleft patients.
Dr Lotz has a particular interest in the reconstruction of external ear deformities, facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic breast surgery. He is a consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Royal North Shore public hospital, and has private rooms in Mosman and Brookvale.
Dr Lotz is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He regularly attends local and international Plastic Surgery conferences and meetings to maintain his knowledge of current techniques and developments in plastic surgery.
