MBBS (Hons II) (Sydney University 1975), FACSP, FASMF, Grad Dip Sport Sci (Sydney University 1984) Dr Watson is a Consultant in Sports Medicine at Delmar Private Hospital in Dee Why.

Dr Watson is the current Medical Director at the Sydney Academy of Sport and NSW Institute of Sport. He has also recently been appointed to the provisional medical team for the Australian Olympic Team Sydney 2000 Olympics. During his undergraduate studies at Sydney University and Royal North Shore Hospital, he received the A & M Claffy Prize for Ophthalmology, the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists Prize and the Royal North Shore Hospital Surgery Prize.

His post-graduate studies include:

1975 - Intern Royal North Shore Hospital
1976 - Surgical Resident Medical Officer, Royal North Shore Hospital
1976-80 Clinical and Research Fellow to Dr M J Cross, Orthopaedic.Surgeon. North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre.
1984 - Post-graduate diploma in Sports Science (Sydney University)
1988 - Awarded Fellowship of Australian Sports Medicine Federation
1991 - Awarded Fellowship of Australian College of Sports Physicians
1994 Australian College of Sports Physicians Special Award for outstanding service to the college.
